                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 1604 LONG
                   STREET BEING ON THE EASTERN SIDE OF LONG STREET
                   AND INTERSECTING WITH THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF WEST
                   16TH STREET, FROM M-1 MANUFACTURING ZONE TO C-3
                   CENTRAL BUSINESS ZONE, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN
                   CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located at 1604 Long Street being
                on the eastern side of Long Street and intersecting
                with the southern side of West 16th Street.  A
                tract of land identified by deed book 4126, page
                485, ROHC and referenced by the attached map.  Tax
                Map 145LD-A-001.
               
               
         from M-1 Manufacturing Zone to C-3 Central Business Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 2.	  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this
         Ordinance shall be subject to the following conditions:

              	   1.	Approval of extension of Central Business Zone
                        boundry to the Interstate;
        
              	   2.	Subject to height restriction to be determined by
                        Downtown Design Center; and
        
              	   3.	All existing easements are retained.
        
        
              	   SECTION 3.   BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         provided by law.
